Problem Note 68080: The message "Your server connection has timed out" appears in SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office
A dialog box similar to the following might appear in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office 8 or later when a request to the SAS Server takes longer than the default threshold of 60 seconds:
Beginning in Update 3 for SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office 8.3, a configuration option is available to increase the default threshold and avoid this message. Use a text editor to add the ServerTimeoutIntervalMinutes option to the SAS.OfficeAddin.dll.config file, which is located in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office installation directory. Here is an example:
<configuration>
<assemblySettings>
<!-- Example application settings -->
<add key="ServerTimeoutIntervalMinutes" value="3"/>
</assemblySettings>
</configuration>
The configuration option is case sensitive. Do not copy and paste from this SAS Note into the SAS.OfficeAddin.dll.config file. Instead, enter the configuration option and value manually.
Note: The default installation directories for the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office are C:\Program Files (x86)\SASHome\x86\SASAddinforMicrosoftOffice\8 for the 32-bit version and C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASAddInforMicrosoftOffice\8 for the 64-bit version.
