Problem Note 67206: Unoptimized counts are published to the Contact History table when you use Link nodes as marketing cells in SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Customer Intelligence Studio, unoptimized counts are published to the Contact History table when you use Link nodes as marketing cells. This problem happens when you perform steps similar to the following:

  1. Create a campaign by using a Link node where the property use the most current data when referenced by a link is selected.

  2. Connect the Link node directly to a Communication node. In order to connect to the Link node, you need to select the property Act as a marketing cell.

  3. Add the campaign that contains the Link node to a SAS® Marketing Optimization campaign group.

  4. Create and run a scenario, and designate the scenario as preferred.

  5. Execute and optimize the campaign group.

The scenario optimizes without any issues and provides expected results. In addition, the Communication node shows the final marketing count correctly, and the selection summary in the campaign group also shows the optimized counts correctly.

However, querying the Contact History shows that the unoptimized counts are used when the Contact History is updated.

To work around this problem, use a Cell node after the Link node. That is, for the node structure, use Link ► Cell ► Communication instead of Link ► Communication.
