Problem Note 66370: The GLMSELECT procedure might display incorrect axis values in the model fit criteria plots when SELECTION=BACKWARD

If the PLOTS=(CRITERIA) or PLOTS=(CRITERIONPANEL) option is specified in PROC GLMSELECT with SELECTION=BACKWARD, the Effect Sequence tick mark values in the Fit Criteria Plot might indicate incorrectly that terms are added to the model. The respective plots are correct. The following example illustrates the problem:

class c1 c2;
model y = x1 x2 x1*x1 x1*x2 x2*x2 c1|c2 / selection=backward(select=press);
run;
Since the backward elimination method is used, there should be a minus sign at every step to denote the removed term. The horizontal axis indicates "3 + c1" and "4 + c2" for the last two steps. The correct values are "3 - c1" and "4 - c2".
