Problem Note 66366: Using a dynamic list with dependencies does not work in SAS® Customer Intelligence
In SAS Customer Intelligence Studio, you can select values from dynamic lists that are stored in an Oracle table. However, when you define any dependencies, you cannot select any values from the dependent list. This problem happens when you perform steps similar to the following:
- Create a stored process in SAS® Management Console and define dependencies for different columns. In the following example, the column Cluster is dependent on Treatment Code:
- Use this stored process in a Process node or in the Diagram tool in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio.
After you perform these steps, you cannot select values for Cluster because the table is not selectable:
The issue happens because the matching value from the first field contains trailing spaces in the Oracle table. These spaces are not contained in the query. So, there is no match between the value in the table and the value in the query.
To work around this problem, use a SAS® data set rather than an Oracle table.
