Problem Note 66232: Using a join view in a CAS action with a computed column produces both a "cas.CASException" error and an access violation error
When you use a join view in a SAS® Cloud Analytic Services (CAS) action, the following error messages might be produced:
An error occurred. com.sas.cas.CASException: An access violation prevents progress of the analysis. (severity=2 reason=0 statusCode=2680228)
3 NOTE: The data access technique requires that computed columns are evaluated on-demand.
5 ERROR: An access violation prevents progress of the analysis.
5 ERROR: The action stopped due to errors.
The problem occurs when the CAS action references a computed column in the GROUPBY or ORDERBY list.
You can also see this problem in a report object, such as a list table object, in SAS® Visual Analytics. The related error message in SAS Visual Analytics looks similar to the following:
To circumvent the problem, copy the view into a table by using the PARTITION action. Here is an example. In the syntax here, substitute your specific values for caslib-name, view-name, and table-name:
proc cas;
partition / table={caslib="caslib-name", name='view-name'} casout={caslib="caslib-name",
name='table-name', promote=true};
quit;
