Problem Note 65920: The PRINT procedure fails to work, and you see an error regarding the sorted data set from the SAS® Federation Server (FEDSVR) engine
PROC PRINT fails with an error similar to the following in the SAS log:
ERROR: Data set WORK.Y is not sorted in ascending sequence. The current BY group has V = a and the next BY group has V = A.
This error appears after you run the SORT procedure with the SORTSEQ=LINGUISTIC option. An example is shown here:
proc sort data=lib1.x out=work.y sortseq=linguistic;
by v;
run;
proc print data=work.y;
by v;
run;
This problem occurs after installing the hot fix in SAS Note 63320, "SAS® Federation Server does not translate the DATE format as documented for a view (DSN=BASE) created from database tables." That hot fix implemented enhanced format processing. However, a regression occurs only for data that contains DBCS (double-byte character set) encoding.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
