Problem Note 65449: The METALIB procedure returns a syntax error for Google BigQuery, MongoDB, Salesforce, and Snowflake databases

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Registering a table to the metadata or updating a table's metadata might result in an error similar to the following:

ERROR: Invalid option name <some-character-or-string>.
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.

The error occurs for libraries in the following databases:

  • Google BigQuery
  • MongoDB
  • Salesforce
  • Snowflake

This problem occurs when you use any of these methods to register or update tables:

  • SAS® Management Console 9.4_M6
  • SAS® Data Integration Studio 4.904
  • PROC METALIB

The error returned is a syntax error caused by PROC METALIB using incomplete connection parameters to connect to the database. The error occurs even when the library definition in the metadata is correct.
