Problem Note 65724: A REST transformation in SAS® Data Integration Studio causes issues for a RESTful service that uses the Content-Type header attribute
When you use the REST transformation in SAS Data Integration Studio, a web service might return an error (for example, “612 - Invalid Content Type”) even after you properly define the following REST properties on the Options tab for the transformation:
- HTTP content-type
- HTTP charset
This issue occurs because the Content-Type entry in the header is not properly created from the two options above. For example, you select application/json as the "HTTP content-type" and utf-8 as the "HTTP charset." These selections result in the following Content-Type entry "ct" for the generated HTTP procedure call:
proc http ... ct="application/json charset=utf-8"
A RESTful service that properly parses that Content-Type entry in the header would expect a semicolon between these two values like this:
proc http ... ct="application/json; charset=utf-8"
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
The hot fix is a Base SAS® hot fix that consists of an SPK file that must be imported to the metadata server to replace the existing transformation. Follow the installation instructions that are provided with the hot fix.
