Problem Note 65657: An entity label does not display the correct value after metadata updates in SAS® Visual Investigator

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

The workflow process regularly checks for entity metadata changes in order to regenerate the entity labels that are used in the workflow models.

After a workflow has a change notification, the workflow process queries the DocumentService for each entity object, including its displayLabel value.

In SAS® Visual Investigator 10.5.1, such an update occurred immediately, and any updated entity label would display correctly. However, in SAS® Visual Investigator 10.6, the displayLabel value is one value behind what it should be.

This issue can be seen after you take these steps:

  1. You change the entity label in the entity view.
  2. The workflow process receives the change notification, and conducts a query, but the object label that the DocumentService returns is the previously saved version, not the newest version.
  3. The next time that you modify the label, the displayLabel value will display the value that was entered for the label in Step 1.

There is no workaround.

A fix for this issue is planned for a future software release.
