Problem Note 65655: Entity-level security rules are not working as expected for a workflow task in SASĀ® Visual Investigator
When you attempt to claim a workflow task, the entity-level security rules for the entity do not grant access as expected.
This issue can occur under these conditions:
- The entity contains a drop-down menu from which you select a value that relates to a group or user.
- The entity-security rules enable your group to have Search and Read permissions. However, you can also create instances of that entity.
For example, you take these steps in the interface:
- Create a new record for the entity. Add your group so that you can select the group value from a drop-down list.
- Save the record.
- Find the record via a search, and then open the details and enter Edit mode.
- Open the workflow task for the new record.
- Click Claim.
This action fails and you see the following pop-up message:
User task cannot be found
If you enable debug logging, the logs contain messages suggesting that the query against the group field received the incorrect permissions information.
This same condition can also occur for other workflow actions and endpoints.
A fix for this issue is planned for a future software release.
