Problem Note 64363: You modify the COLUMNS= option value to change from a multi-column format to a single-column format, but the column width is not correct in the output

The COLUMNS= value with the TAGSETS.RTF destination can specify the number of columns to place across each page of output.

However, if you first use a higher value and then change to a lower value for each COLUMNS= option, the column width does not reset. The content is displayed on the page within the width that matches the prior COLUMNS= value.

For example, you use COLUMNS=2 to create a two-column report on the first page of output. The page appears as follows:

You then specify COLUMNS=1 to produce a single-column report on the second page. The content on the second page is displayed incorrectly within a reduced column width, as shown below:

If you specify the OUTPUTWIDTH=100% style attribute in the PRINT procedure to override this behavior, the attribute is ignored.
