Installation Note 64002: The SAS® Embedded Process does not support Hive transactional tables

Starting in Hortonworks HDP 3.0, support for transactional tables was dropped from HCatalog. In order to continue using Hive tables in SAS Embedded Process, changes need to be made to the architecture to use the new Hive Warehouse Connector for Spark processes and the LLAP Input Format for MapReduce processes.

This new feature introduces Hive LLAP Input Format support to Hadoop Embedded Process and Hive Warehouse Connector support to Spark Embedded Process. The Hadoop Embedded Process and Spark Embedded Process are able to read and write data from or to a Hive transactional table using Hive LLAP capabilities.
In SAS® 9.4M6 (TS1M6), the functionality is available after you install the hot fix.
