Problem Note 63922: The IMPORT procedure drops the time portion of a datetime value
Beginning with SAS® 9.4M4 (TS1M4), PROC IMPORT is dropping the time portion of a datetime value. An example of the datetime value is 23-Nov-2017 12:00:11 PM. When the PROC IMPORT code is run in SAS 9.4M4 and later releases, the value is read in as a date with the DATE. informat, but the time portion is dropped.
There are two ways to circumvent the problem. The first workaround is to recall the generated DATA step code. Then modify the INFORMAT and FORMAT statements to use the ANYDTDTM40. informat and the DATETIME. format instead of the DATE. informat and format. Then resubmit the code.
The second workaround is to write a DATA step with INFILE and INPUT statements to read the external file.
