Problem Note 63152: You see a pop-up message that reads "Authorization error" when you change conveyed permissions for SAS® Viya® content

When you save changes to conveyed permissions for SAS Viya content objects using the Edit Authorization window within SAS® Environment Manager, the following pop-up message is returned:
The error can occur for any user, including one who is a member of the SAS Administrators group.
The problem occurs with the SAS Viya authorization service versions 3.7.11 and 3.7.12. The problem is caused by an incorrect evaluation of rules performed by the bulk-action method against the root object and the container object.
You can determine the version of the authorization service in either of the following ways:
- Run the following rpm command from the SAS Viya microservices host machine:
rpm -q sas-authorization
The faulty versions are as follows:
sas-authorization-3.7.11-20180828.1535479368155.x86_64
sas-authorization-3.7.12-20181031.1540994962522.x86_64
- Connect to the authorization/apiMeta endpoint. The faulty versions are reported in the buildVersion attribute:
"buildVersion":"3.7.11"
"buildVersion":"3.7.12"

Verify That the Update Is Installed
To verify that the fix is installed, use one of the methods shown above.
To complete this process, make sure that the package version shown in the output either matches or is newer than the following:
(for the rpm command method): sas-authorization-3.7.13-20181204.1543957436197.x86_64.rpm.
(for the authorization/apiMeta endpoint method) "buildVersion":"3.7.13"
