Problem Note 63144: SAS® Environment Manager displays a status of down (!) for the SAS® Deployment Agent 1.0 resource at SAS® 9.4M6 (TS1M6)
If you upgrade from any maintenance release of SAS® 9.4 to SAS 9.4M6 (TS1M6), SAS Environment Manager might display a status of down () for the SAS Deployment Agent 1.0 resource, even if the SAS Deployment Agent process is running normally. This problem occurs when you select Resources ► Browse in the SAS Environment Manager web console.
Starting with SAS 9.4M6, the PID filename that is used by the SAS Deployment Agent has changed from .pid to server.short-host-name.pid to support deployments with shared file systems.
You can restore monitoring of the SAS Deployment Agent by following these steps to rediscover the SAS Deployment Agent 1.0 resource:
- Log on to the SAS Environment Manager web console.
- Select Resources ► Browse.
- Click Servers.
- Click host-name.example.com SAS Deployment Agent 1.0.
- Select Tools Menu ► Delete Server.
SAS Environment Manager rediscovers the SAS Deployment Agent 1.0 resource within 10 minutes by using the correct PID file, and the application should no longer display a status of down.
