Problem Note 62687: Emails might not be sent if values for the email parameters FROM= and SENDER=
are invalid
If you do not specify a value for the FROM= or the SENDER= parameters when using the FILENAME EMAIL access method, the parameters default to user-ID@host-name. In this default value, host-name is the domain on which SAS® code is executing and user-ID is the user ID that executes the code.
Email might not be delivered if your site's SMTP server has restrictions such as the following:
- Invalid values for the SENDER= or FROM= parameters.
- Requires the SENDER= and FROM= parameters to match.
To address the issues with the FROM= and SENDER= parameters, choose one of the following options depending on your site’s restrictions:
- Specify the EMAILID= SAS option. This option sets the value for the SENDER= parameter if not specified.
- Code a valid value for the SENDER= and FROM= parameters in the SAS code.
- Apply the hot fix associated with this SAS Note. Then, the SENDER= parameter defaults to match the value of the FROM= parameter.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
