Problem Note 62161: Integration with SAS® Customer Intelligence 360 fails because a data descriptor cannot be created when you execute a campaign

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

A SAS® Customer Intelligence campaign fails when the combined length of a campaign name and the name of a Cell node that uploads subjects to SAS Customer Intelligence 360 is greater than 106 characters.* These fields are combined to populate the description field in the data descriptor that is created. When the failure occurs, the following error is generated:

Failure to create a data descriptor

This message does not specify why the failure occurs. Therefore, you have to search the log files to find out the reason for the failure (that is, that you have exceeded the character limit).

To avoid this error, ensure that the combined length of the names is fewer than 106 characters.*

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

The hot fix validates the combined length of the campaign and Cell node names. The hot fix does not allow those names if, when combined, they are greater than the 106-character limit. The hot fix also enables the software to notify you as to the reason that the failure occurs.

If you do need to pass more information by using the Imported List data descriptor than this combination allows, use the Cell node and/or campaign description fields in the campaign because these fields are added to the data descriptor as custom properties.

* Be aware that although this note states that the limit is 106 characters, it is actually 106 bytes. You should take this into account when you use encodings that use double-byte character sets.
