Problem Note 61924: SAS® Stored Process dynamic prompts require user access to the Standard Logical Workspace Server
If a stored process contains a dynamic prompt (parameter) and the stored process is executed using the SAS Stored Process Web Application, then the user must have a grant of the ReadMetadata permission to the Standard Logical Workspace Server. If the user does not have a grant of the ReadMetadata permission, then none of the prompts are displayed in the prompts window. Instead, only a Run button is displayed.
In this scenario, the pooled workspace server is used to retrieve the values to populate the dynamic prompt. However, the user must have a grant of the ReadMetadata permission to the Standard Logical Workspace Server to complete this action, even though this server is not actually used.
Workaround
If you have a user who is intentionally denied access to the Standard Workspace Server but needs to execute a stored process that contains a dynamic prompt, complete the following steps to work around this issue:
- Give the user a grant of ReadMetadata permission to the Standard Logical Workspace Server and to the Standard Workspace Server.
- Change the file system permissions for the workspace server so that the user does not have permissions to start the workspace server. For example, change the permissions in the workspace server directory so that the user does not have Read access to this directory.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
If a stored process contains a dynamic prompt and the stored process is executed using the SAS Stored Process Web Application, then the user must have ReadMetadata Grant permission to the Standard Logical Workspace Server. Otherwise, the prompt will not be displayed.
