Problem Note 61811: Character variable length increases when you upload a UTF-8 data set to CAS with PROC CASUTIL

The length of a character variable is increased by 50% when you use PROC CASUTIL to upload a SAS data set with UTF-8 encoding to SAS® Cloud Analytic Services (CAS). For example, a data set containing the character variable NAME with a length of 8 has a length of 12 after the data set has been uploaded to CAS using PROC CASUTIL.
