Problem Note 61399: A "Syntax error or access violation" occurs when you use nested functions and a WHERE clause
In SAS® Federation Server 4.2, you might see the following unexpected message when fetching data from a view:
Syntax error or access violation
This issue occurs under the following conditions:
- The view contains a CAST function operating on the result of an SQL function (SUBSTRING function for example).
- The SELECT statement uses a WHERE clause to filter the results of the view.
The error does not occur if CAST operates on a column, or if your SELECT statement does not contain a WHERE clause.
