Problem Note 61150: Time-range prompts in SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio custom details do not handle validation properly for different time zones
In SAS Customer Intelligence Studio, you can create custom details that use a time range. The custom-detail Time field converts the value into a UTC time-zone value when the value is saved. This time value does not behave as expected when the converted time includes a date shift.
The problem can occur when you perform steps that are similar to the following:
- Create a campaign definition in SAS Customer Intelligence Studio that is running in the UTC-5 time-zone (EST).
- On the Custom Details page, add a time range.
- In the From field, enter a time value of 10 AM.
- In the To field, enter a time value of 10 PM.
This scenario should be a valid-use case. However, you receive a validation error stating that the From value is outside of the valid range of values for the field. This error occurs because the From time value is pushed ahead 4 hours (EDT) to 2 PM (UTC) and the To time value is pushed ahead 4 hours to 2 AM (UTC), the next day. As a result, the date shift is not accommodated.
To work around this issue, use a datetime field instead of a time field for custom details.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
Using a time-range prompt in custom details causes the input time to offset improperly as a result of validation checks that are in place.
