Problem Note 60935: SAS® Enterprise Guide® might freeze for a long time after you submit a program that creates a large number of output data sets
When a program that creates a lot of output data sets or libraries is run in SAS Enterprise Guide, the application might freeze and remain unresponsive for a long time.
If (as described in SAS KB0036457) you enable SAS Enterprise Guide application logging on the client and rerun your program, you might see a call to the DeDupeDatasets() function, which might take several hours to complete. Here are two examples:
[Main] DEBUG SAS.EG.ProjectElements.Collector [(null)] - DeDupeDatasets() - entering
[Main] DEBUG SAS.EG.ProjectElements.Collector [(null)] - DeDupeDatasets() - leaving
This would suggest that your session is indeed freezing due to lots of output data sets or libraries.
