Problem Note 60744: International currencies might be read as US dollar currencies when using the XLSX driver
International accounting formats such as EURO might be translated to the DOLLAR format when importing Microsoft Excel files into SAS® using the XLSX driver.
As a workaround, apply the appropriate currency format using the FORMAT statement. An example is shown below using different formats:
proc import
datafile="C:\excelfiles\several_currencies.xlsx"
dbms=xlsx out=mydata;
format interest_due NLMNLGBP12.2 PPI_due NLMNLUSD12.2 OCL_due NLMNLEUR12.2
Return_pymt_due NLBEST12. Late_fee_due NLMNIUSD12.2 BT_fee_due NLBEST12.
MT_fee_due NLBEST12. AMF_due NLBEST12. NSTF_due NLMNICHF12.2 total_remediation
NLBEST12.;
run;
