Problem Note 60742: After moving control objects, SAS® Visual Analytics reports might become corrupted
If you move a control object from the main body of your report to the report or section prompt area, you might see an exception that is similar to the following when you attempt to reopen the report:
FaultEvent fault=[RPC Fault faultString="java.lang.RuntimeException : Report could not be opened.
Cause: Unexpected second use of a unique name: vi7534 (Reason : Report Cannot Be Read) :: java.io.IOException:
Error occurred during attempt to read a report from input stream. Exception: Unexpected second use of a unique name: vi7534
(Reason : Report Cannot Be Read)" faultCode="Server.Processing" faultDetail="null"] messageId="EBB656B6-7408-AE7F-90B6-216D035CF2D5"
type="fault" bubbles=false cancelable=true eventPhase=2]
Specifically, this problem can occur after the following steps are taken:
- You create a report that contains at least one prompt container with one or more controls in the report prompt or section prompt area.
- You add a new control such as a drop-down list to the main body of your report.
- You move the new control from the main body of your report to the report or section prompt area.
- You save your report.
If you encounter this problem, send an export of your report to SAS Technical Support. It might be possible to repair the report. However, not all reports can be repaired.
