Usage Note 60565: Unicode table changes supporting Base SAS® LOWCASE and UPCASE functions were updated from SAS® 9.4M1 to SAS® 9.4M3

The Base SAS® UPCASE and LOWCASE functions have been based on Unicode 2.0 table mappings since 1996. The mapping tables for transcoding and other features were updated to Unicode 5.0 by SAS® 9.4M1. In SAS® 9.4M3, the Unicode character mapping tables were updated to Unicode version 7.0. At that time, the tables that support the UPPER and LOWER case functions were also updated. The updates to the Unicode tables that support the UPPER and LOWER case functions might result in differences in character representation between SAS® 9.4M1 and 9.4M3.
