The following errors might be encountered when you run PROC DS2 and the JSON package method createParser contains a Varchar parameter:

ERROR: Compilation error.
ERROR: Line 104: Ambiguous method call for method createparser. Multiple method declarations match the given argument list.

To circumvent the issue, do one of the following:

• Assign the variable supplied to the createParser method a type of NVARCHAR:
  
  rc=j.createParser(response);

   

• Provide the input text to the createParser method as a national string:
  
  rc=j.createParser  (n'{ "my JSON " : "text" }' );

   

• Use a subsequent setParserInput method to provide the input text instead of supplying it as the first argument in the createParser method:
  
  dcl varchar (128) txt;
  txt='{ "my JSON" : "text" }';
  rc=j.createParser();
  rc=j.setParserInput ( txt );
