Problem Note 59247: When you rename a date column and use it in date calculations, "ERROR: sqlplan internal error..." occurs
When you use the SQL procedure to rename a date column and use it in date calculations, you might encounter the following error:
ERROR: sqlplan internal error: Cannot find symbol DATE_ACCOUNT_OPEN,
var=60, tag=0001. This message can be caused by attempting to make correlated
references between two different items on a single FROM clause.
This error occurs if the following is true about the query:
- There is a join of multiple database management system (DBMS) tables.
- Two or more date variables are being renamed.
- The renamed date variables are used in a date calculation.
There are two possible workarounds:
- Use a RENAME= data set option on the resulting data set.
- Divide the renaming action and the date calculations into multiple steps.
