Problem Note 59813: Using inline functions with the ODS destination for Excel might not display the function output correctly
Inline functions that you use with the ODS destination for Excel might not display the function output correctly. If an inline function such as the SUPER function is specified, the character is removed unless a space is inserted between the inline function and the character. Inserting a space enables the character to be displayed in the output. Also, any space that is added prior to the inline function is removed in the output.
Below is an example that demonstrates the problem when the SUPER function is specified within a label that does not contain a space between the inline function and the character or string.
ods escapechar='^';
ods excel file='c:\temp\test.xlsx';
proc print data=sashelp.class label;
label age='^{super(Age)}';
run;
ods excel close;
