Usage Note 59609: Performance enhancements have been made to PROC SQL views
Performance enhancements have been made to how WHERE clauses are evaluated when you use PROC SQL views with procedures other than the SQL procedure. Specifically, you encounter the performance enhancement when you use WHERE clauses with PROC SQL views against data sources other than SAS® data sets. In this situation, the clauses are evaluated by the underlying data store, such as Scalable Performance Data (SPD) Server or database management system (DBMS), when possible.
This enhancement might reduce the amount of data that is moved between SAS and the data source, thereby increasing performance.
