Problem Note 59252: Generating a multi-stage contributions fact table in SAS® Cost and Profitability Management 8.1 takes significantly longer than in previous releases
Generating a multi-stage contributions fact table in SAS Cost and Profitability Management 8.1 might take significantly longer to complete than generating a fact table using the same cube configuration and model data in SAS® Activity-Based Management 7.2. This issue might be partly due to the following factors:
- Repeated fact table runs for the same model might cause progressive growth in the size of the model data file, which makes successive runs slower than earlier ones.
- The fact table process does not consolidate some matching rows, which produces a larger table than necessary.

Running the process to generate a fact table for a specific cube configuration and a specific set of model data can take considerably longer to complete in SAS Cost and Profitability Management 8.1 than it did in SAS® Activity-Based Management 7.2.
