Problem Note 58975: Users cannot create and access Netezza temp tables when using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza, you can specify an ODBC data source name (DSN) in the CONNECT statement. If the CONNECT statement specifies the DSN instead of the Netezza user ID and password, you cannot create and access a Netezza temp table.

Here is an example in which the DSN is specified:

libname pwdb netezza dsn=nzsql connection=global; proc sql; connect to netezza (dsn=nzsql connection=global autocommit=yes); execute (create temporary table testtmp(brand_id varchar(1), brand_desc varchar(35), update_date date)) by netezza; insert into pwdb.testtmp select * from sasdir.brand;
ERROR: File PWDB.testtmp.DATA does not exist.

To create and access the Netezza temp table, you must specify the Netezza user ID and password when connecting to the database. Here is an example:

libname pwdb netezza user=user-ID pwd=password server=server-name connection=global; proc sql; connect to netezza (user=user-ID pwd=password server=server-name connection=global autocommit=yes); execute (create temporary table testtmp(brand_id varchar(1), brand_desc varchar(35), update_date date)) by netezza; insert into pwdb.testtmp select * from sasdir.brand; quit;
