Problem Note 58597: SAS® Business Rules Manager performance is slow on small data sets that have a large number of rule definitions
When you execute a rule flow in SAS Business Rules Manager 3.1, performance might be slower than it is with SAS Business Rules Manager 2.2. This slowness becomes more evident when you are running large rule flows (100+ rules) against small data sets (100 observations).
There is no workaround.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix, a new property is available:
brm.runtime.codetype=DS1 or DS2
To access the SAS Business Rules Manager properties on the Plug-ins tab of SAS® Management Console, follow these steps:
- Expand Application Management.
- Expand Configuration Manager.
- Expand SAS Application Infrastructure.
- Expand Enterprise Decision Manager 3.1.
- Right-click Business Rules Manager Web 3.1 and select Properties.
The Business Rules Manager Web 3.1 Properties dialog box is displayed. Set the property to the appropriate context server (examples, DS1 or DS2). If no property is provided, then the system defaults to DS2.
Selecting DS1 might improve performance.
