Problem Note 57849: You cannot remove approval for a campaign in SAS® Marketing Automation

You might not be able to remove the approval for or modify a campaign if you belong to a campaign group with approval permission in SAS Marketing Automation.

This problem might occur when the following conditions are present:

  1. A campaign group has approval permission for a campaign.
  2. User "A" within the same campaign group is added separately and given approval permission.
  3. User "A" approves the campaign.
  4. User "A" is then deleted from SAS metadata.
  5. User "B" within the same campaign group tries to remove approval from the campaign.

User "B" might then receive the following message after trying to remove the approval from the campaign:

"Approver not valid: The user [USER ID] is not a user of this business context. Specified approvers must be users of the current business context."

This message is correct, but you might not be able to remove the approval from the campaign.

To work around this issue, navigate to the campaign group permissions and explicitly add approve permission for User "B".
