Problem Note 57569: Using PRESERVE_TAB_NAMES=YES with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PostgreSQL might result in a CLI describe error

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Adding the LIBNAME option PRESERVE_TAB_NAMES=YES when using SAS/ACCESS Interface to PostgreSQL might result in the following error when you try to access a table in PostgreSQL:

POSTGRES: ROLLBACK performed on connection 1.
ACCESS ENGINE: ERROR: CLI describe error: ERROR: zero-length delimited
identifier at or near """";
No query has been executed with that handle

The error can occur when your tables in PostgreSQL are case sensitive and you are also specifying a schema in the LIBNAME statement. By default, the Postgres engine is wrapping the schema in quotation marks and passing the query to the database. When PRESERVE_TAB_NAMES=YES is also specified, it adds an extra set of quotation marks, resulting in the error above.
