Usage Note 57486: PROTO, FCMP, and COMPILE procedures contain new features in order to run C libraries in SAS® High-Performance Risk that are note thread-safe

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

New features are available so that users of SAS High-Performance Risk can run C libraries in SAS High-Performance Risk that are not thread-safe.

The PROTO procedure contains the following new features:

  1. New options in PROC PROTO statement: BRIDGEFILE=<filename> and BRIDGECATCHSIGNALS

You use the BRIDGEFILE= option specify the full pathname of a file to which the PROTO procedure writes C templates.

You use the BRIDGECATCHSIGNALS option to indicate that the C template contains code that installs and handles signals.

  2. New options on the function prototype: BRIDGE

You use the BRIDGE option on a function prototype to notify the PROTO procedure that a function is not thread-safe and that it needs to be called through the bridge component of SAS High-Performance Risk.
The FCMP and COMPILE procedures contain the following new built-in functions:
  1. The function LOADLIBRARY(version, libraryname) loads a shared C library through the bridge component of SAS High-Performance Risk.
  2. The function UNLOADLIBRARY(version) unloads the library.
  3. The function SETVERSION(version) sets the current library to use by the version number.
