Problem Note 57099: WebHDFS REST API does not work correctly on SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Hadoop when high availability is configured in the Hadoop cluster
Using the WebHDFS RESTFUL application programming interface (API) does not work correctly on Hadoop clusters when high-availability mode is enabled. As a result, you must
implement the standard Java configuration steps and the Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) connection must be used. These configuration steps are needed because the issue increases the complexities related to the management of Java JAR files. Otherwise, the steps would not be necessary.
In addition, data integrity issues might occur when you use the WebHDFS RESTFUL API with high-availability mode enabled. When writing data from SAS® to Hadoop in a Kerberos secured environment with high availability enabled, SAS creates the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) file but no data is written. This means that a table is created with zero observations.
To enable the WebHDFS RESTFUL API, set the SAS_HADOOP_RESTFUL environment variable to 1.
