Problem Note 57051: Partitioning a Hive table by the DATE column in SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Hadoop fails and returns "Error attempting to CREATE a DBMS table"
If you attempt to partition Hive tables by the DATE column in SAS/ACCESS Interface to Hadoop, the partition might fail and an error might result. For example, these errors might occur when you attempt to partition a DATE column:
data x.dpart(dbcreate_table_opts="partitioned by(d date)");
set work.dpart;
run;
NOTE: SAS variable labels, formats, and lengths are not written to DBMS tables.
ERROR: DBCREATE_TABLE_OPTS error: Unrecognized partition key type 'D'. Valid Partition keys
types are: TINYINT, SMALLINT, INT, BIGINT, BOOLEAN, FLOAT, DOUBLE,STRING, BINARY,
TIMESTAMP, DECIMAL, VARCHAR, CHAR.
