Problem Note 56555: An application error occurs when you save a broadcast to a folder that has a pathname that contains parentheses
SAS® Digital Marketing does not support the use of parentheses in a folder pathname when you save a broadcast by using the following steps:
- Open SAS® Customer Intelligence Studio and navigate to the E-mail broadcasts category.
- Right-click the new broadcast and select Save as.
- In the Save As dialog box, click the New Folder icon () and create a folder called New Folder (9999).
- Save the broadcast to that folder.
When you save the broadcast, the following error is displayed:
The application has encountered an unknown error.
Please check the application error logs or contact your system administrator for assistance.
If you click the E-mail broadcasts category again, you do not see the new folder. However, if you select Save as for a broadcast again, the new folder New Folder (9999) is displayed in the dialog box. Even though you can see the new folder, you cannot save broadcasts to that folder.
To work around this issue, do not use parentheses in folder names or folder pathnames where you want to store broadcasts.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
