Problem Note 55865: An upgrade of SAS® Environment Manager fails and returns the error "ACM could NOT be enabled"

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

During an upgrade of SAS Environment Manager, the Agent-Collected Metric (ACM) extract, transform, and load (ETL) script might fail after you enable the SAS Environment Manager Service Architecture and the ACM. The master ACM ETL process runs the getDBMirrorData.sas job. The ACM ETL log file shows that this job is called and might return the following error:

Starting dbMirrorData...
getDBMirrorData.sas completed with ERRORS (RC=2)

After this error is returned, the following message is displayed:

ACM could NOT be enabled.

The ACM ETL log file identifies the SAS log file that is associated with the failed job. This log file has a name with the following syntax: getDBMirrorData_yyyymmdd_153123.sas.log (where yyyymmdd specifies a timestamp). This problem might cause the following messages to appear in the log:

NOTE: Current schema set to 'public'
ERROR: ERROR: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "sasevdb"
ERROR: TKTS initialization failed.

Workaround

To work around the problem, complete the following steps:

Note: When you run the deployment manager, click the appropriate buttons at the bottom of each deployment-manager page to save your actions.

  1. Update the password for the sasevdb account using the instructions in the Update a Managed Password section of the SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform: Security Administration Guide, Second Edition.
  2. Once the password has been updated, enable the SAS Environment Manager Service Architecture again and use the -f (force) option if necessary to call the Enterprise Management Integration (EMI) initialization script again.
  3. Rerun the ETL script.

After you perform these steps, the ETL process runs and should complete without errors.
