Installation Note 55950: The Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server does not honor the port that is specified in the SAS® Deployment Wizard

DetailsAboutRate It

The SAS Deployment Wizard prompts you to specify a port for the Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server. The Instructions.html for Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server notes the port that is specified in the deployment wizard, and this value is also stored in metadata. However, the Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server does not honor the port that you specify. Instead, it uses the default port (21050) that is specified in the deployment wizard.

If the default port is available, the Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server start on that port. If the default port is unavailable, the Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server fails to start because the port is in use.

To workaround this problem:

  1. Change the port value in the dmserver.cfg file (located in SASHOME/SASVisualProcessOrchestrationServer/2.1/poserver/etc) so that it matches the port value in the metadata.
  2. Restart the Visual Process Orchestration Runtime Server.
