If you attempt to use a FILENAME statement in SAS 9.4 to ftp a file that contains variable blocked and binary data from a z/OS environment to a UNIX environment, an error similar to the following occurs:
ERROR: Invalid record detected. FATAL: Unrecoverable I/O error detected in the execution of the DATA step program. Aborted during the EXECUTION phase.
Or this:
ERROR: Could not read record descriptor.
The same program code runs successfully in SAS® 9.2 and in SAS® 9.3.
