Problem Note 54303: Baseline sales units might be different between a promotion, a regular price plan, and a category plan with the same scope

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS® Promotion Optimization and SAS® Regular Price Optimization, baseline sales units might be different between a promotion, a regular price plan, and a category plan with the same scope. The baseline sales units might not match because of very small shares at the low level (individual product-locations). This issue occurs when the following are true:

  • Some of the product-locations in the promotion, regular price plan, and category plan have a very small share of demand of the share group's demand.
  • The products that have a very small share of demand are the only products in the share group at these locations.

The differences in baseline sales units are due to different thresholds for detecting the small shares in optimization and aggregation.

There is no workaround for this issue.
