Problem Note 54228: Opening a broadcast in SAS® Digital Marketing Studio might result in an XSL compilation error

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

The following error occurs when you open a broadcast in SAS Digital Marketing Studio that references an include.xsl file:

Your XSL content failed to compile.

An include.xsl file can be used to hide code from the broadcast user. However, the underlying file structure for the include.xsl file is incorrect on client machines where SAS Digital Marketing Studio is available.

For example, in studio.ini, APPHOME is defined as follows:

JavaArgs_5=-Dbulkemail.apphome="D:\SAS\Config\Lev1\Applications\SASCustomerIntelligence\SASDigitalMarketingClient"

The client code tries to retrieve resources from the etc folder at the SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Applications\SASCustomerIntelligence\SASDigitalMarketingClient\ location and fails. The etc folder is not present under the client’s APPHOME directory.

To work around the problem, perform the following steps on all machines where SAS Digital Marketing Studio is available:

  1. Create a folder called etc under bulkemail.apphome, which is defined in studio.ini.
  2. Copy the include.xsl from the server's APPHOME directory to the newly created directory, which is D:\SAS\Config\Lev1\Applications\SASCustomerIntelligence\SASDigitalMarketing\etc.
  3. Modify the studio.ini file by adding a new entry as shown below, using appropriate numbering:
    JavaArgs_xx=-Dbulkemail.config="etc"
  4. Restart SAS Digital Marketing Studio.
