Performance issues can occur when you use SAS Web Report Studio 4.2 in an OLAP server environment. The problems happen because large-endurance OLAP queries that are executed in SAS Web Report Studio have an adverse effect on the SASServer Java virtual machine (JVM).

In particular, there are two symptoms that you might see as a result of these issues:

• The SASServer JVM does not respond because of a thread deadlock in the SAS Web Report Studio and OLAP server configuration. With this symptom, you receive the following message:

• In some environment where SAS Web Report Studio and OLAP endurance is very high, you might see the SAS Web Report Studio JVM heap usage increase to a drastically high level. This behavior contributes to memory outages for the JVM heap. In this situation, you receive the following message:

These problems are fixed in the second maintenance release for SAS Web Report Studio 4.31 (M2). The only resolution for the problems is to upgrade to that release of SAS Web Report Studio.
