Problem Note 53806: Executing a SAS® Marketing Automation campaign that generates a SAS® Digital Marketing broadcast fails with an error
Executing a SAS Marketing Automation campaign that generates a SAS Digital Marketing broadcast fails with an error when there are no e-mail recipients.
If the campaign is manually executed in SAS® Customer Intelligence, you might see the following error:
The SAS Digital Marketing configuration is either not available or not valid.
This error message is incorrect.
In addition, the SASCustIntelCore.log file might contain the following error:
2014-07-11 07:05:20,063 ERROR [ad5afdc3f1fbe4be:64e06f33:14724d76aab:-13ec]
[sasdemo] [none] SDMHelper Error from SDM Webservice action:
ERROR: RemoteException occurred in server thread; nested exception is:
java.rmi.RemoteException: Input table is empty.
The export file should contain details of the intended e-mail recipients for use by the broadcast. In the campaign, the count of these records is displayed in the Communication node that is associated with the export. A campaign might correctly generate an export file that does not contain any records, depending on the selection criteria. SAS Marketing Automation should handle this situation and not attempt to execute a broadcast if the count is zero. The log file should advise that the broadcast did not execute, due to zero records in the export file.
