Problem Note 53123: PROC NLMIXED might produce incorrect predicted values when the data is not sorted by the SUBJECT= variable
Beginning in SAS 9.4 TS1M1 (SAS/STAT 13.1), PROC NLMIXED no longer requires the input data set to be sorted by the SUBJECT= variable (specified in the RANDOM statement). The results should be the same whether the data set is sorted by subject or not. However, if the data set is not sorted by the SUBJECT= variable, certain results might be incorrect. In particular, predicted values produced by the PREDICT statement and random effect predictions produced by the OUT= option in the RANDOM statement might be incorrect.
To circumvent this problem, sort the input data set by the SUBJECT= variable before running PROC NLMIXED.
A hotfix is planned for this issue.
