Problem Note 53058: Creating a folder shortcut to a non-accessible directory removes the Folders display in SAS® Studio
In SAS Studio, if you create a folder shortcut to a directory that exists but you do not have permission to access, the display under the Folders tab is removed. This includes any folders under My Folders.
In SAS Studio® 3.1 and 3.2, you can create a folder shortcut to a directory to which you do not have access permission. No error is displayed and the shortcut appears to be created. The folders and files still exist and can be accessed through Search. It is only the display that is affected.
To reset the Folders display in SAS Studio 3.1 or 3.2, do the following:
-
Sign out from SAS Studio.
-
From the operating system, delete the following file in the user's directory used by the server that is hosting SAS Studio:
[userdir]/.wepreferences/SWE.folderShortcuts.key
In SAS® Studio 3.3, an error is generated if you try to create a folder shortcut to a directory to which you do not have access. However, you might still encounter this problem if inaccessible directories are migrated, or if the directory becomes inaccessible after the shortcut has been created. Again, the folders and files still exist and can be accessed through Search. It is only the display that is affected.
To reset the Folders display in SAS Studio 3.3, do the following:
-
Sign out from SAS Studio.
-
From the operating system, delete the following file in the user's directory used by the server that is hosting SAS Studio:
On UNIX:
~/.sasstudio/preferences/SWE.folderShortcuts.key
On Windows:
%AppData%\SAS\SASStudio\preferences\SWE.folderShortcuts.key
