A new feature was added to the Quality Knowledge Base in SAS 9.4_M1 (Data Management Platform 2.5). This feature provides an option to select how the Data Quality engine handles words that are normalized based on the input.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue. Applying this hot fix enables SAS 9.4 customers to use new Quality Knowledge Bases without having to fully upgrade the SAS release.
The handling of words that are converted into empty words due to Regular Expressions is a little difficult to see or understand, particularly within the Morph Analyzer group. The input for all the nodes within this group always shows the original input, which means words that are normalized to an empty string still are displayed as input to each of the nodes. In the example input "foo . bar", after applying the Regular Expression, the second word "." is normalized to an empty word and is shown through the rest of the nodes. This empty word is either included or excluded in the processing based on how the developer selects an option when building the definition. In order to apply this feature to SAS 9.4_M1, you need to apply this fix.
