Problem Note 52200: The SAS® 9.4 Environment Manager agent services fail to start

When you try to start the SAS 9.4 Environment Manager agent services, the services fail and the errors that follow below are generated in the SAS 9.4 Environment Manager Agent wrapper.log and agent.log files. Log files are located in the folder SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\SASEnvironmentManager\agent-5.8.0-EE\log\. The wrapper.log file also indicates that the SAS Environment Manager agent stops abruptly during start-up.

In wrapper.log file, the following error appears:

In the EVAgent.log file, this error appears:

To solve this problem, follow these steps:

  1. Stop the SAS Environment Manager agent services.
  2. Navigate to the SAS-configuration-directory\Lev1\Web\SASEnvironmentManager\agent-5.0.0-EE\data\ folder and make a backup of the keyvals file.
  3. Delete the keyvals file from the folder.
  4. Start SAS Environment Manager agent services.
  5. Check the status of SAS services to see whether SAS Environment Manager agent services start successfully with other services. If the services start successfully, you should see the status as shown below:
