Usage Note 52177: Additional steps are required to refresh SAS® content using the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office when you are logged off of a 64-bit Windows system

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Due to operating system and Task Scheduler changes on 64-bit Windows operating systems, the following additional steps are required for a successful scheduled refresh of 32-bit SAS content when you are logged off of your 64-bit Windows operating system. These steps apply to version 6.1_M1 or later of the SAS Add-In.

  1. After creating the .vbs file using ToolsCreate Schedule on the SAS tab in the Ribbon, open Windows Task Scheduler and modify the program that is scheduled to execute. The command should first point to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cscript.exe, and then to the location of the .vbs file.
  2. Create a Desktop folder in both C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile\ and C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\ (if the folder does not already exist).
  3. Copy the ConfigurationV61M1.xml file from C:\Users\YOUR-USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\config\systemprofile\AppData\Roaming\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles. If the MetadataServerProfiles folder does not exist, then you must create it.
  4. Click the Start button.
  5. Run DCOMCNFG.
  6. Double-click Component Services, and then click Computers.
  7. Right-click My Computer and select Properties.
  8. On the COM Security tab in the Launch and Activation Permissions section, click Edit Default.
  9. Explicitly add the user running the script, and grant all of the launch and activation permissions. You must add specific users. Adding a group is not sufficient.
